The tape measure is placed horizontally around the head (not over the forehead and not at the hairline) about one centimetre above the eyebrows and ears. You can hold the end of the tape measure in place with one hand and use the other to guide the tape measure around the head. Or have someone help you. The tape should fit tightly, but not pinch or cut. At the point of intersection you can directly read the circumference of your head. If you use a string as a measuring aid, put it on as with the tape measure method and mark the point of intersection. Then place the string on a ruler or folding rule and read off the measurement to easily find your head circumference
