CLEAR SAIL TAPE INSTRUCTIONS
Before repairing, the kite must be cleaned of sand and salt with fresh fresh water, and be completely dry! Find a flat dirt free windless surface, and lay the kite out there.
1. Lay the kite on its back, and fix it with some heavy objects to make sure the kite sail is non-slip on the
surface.
2use one of the supplied alcohol pads and clean, degrease an area ~ 5cm (2 inches) on all sides along the tear.
3. Now roll out the CLEAR SAIL TAPE along the tear and cut the patch 5CM (2 inches) longer than the tear itself and round the corners with a pair of
scissors.
4. Both sides of the tear must be gap-free and correctly aligned. You can also use a couple of strips of tape to fix the crack gap free on the underside of the kite for support. Now peel off ~ 2.5 cm (1 inch) of the backing tape to expose the adhesive surface.
5. Place the tape on the kite starting 2.5 CM above the crack and align the patch centered over the crack without taping it!
6. Weight the bottom end of the tape with a heavy object to keep it from slipping. Now expose 2.5 cm of the tape, and
start the repair. Make sure that you do not touch the tape on the adhesive surface with your fingers! Now pull off the carrier tape CM by CM while at the same time pressing the clear tape onto the center of the tear without wrinkles. Proceed slowly in small sections until you reach the end of the tear. Make sure that the tear does not shift and that the tape remains centered!
7. Finally, stroke your fingers firmly over the tape and rub & press again
