The MOB Lifesaver is a floating lifeline that is connected to an automatic lifejacket by means of a recovery loop. When the lifejacket is triggered on contact with water, the lifeline is thrown into the water. Then others can use a boat hook, for example, to make the line simple and fix the line to the boat. A rescue buoy can then be attached to hoist the person who has gone overboard back onto the boat.
This rescue method is recommended at safety training courses in Germany. The problem of securing the person who has gone overboard to the ship without their assistance has not yet been solved. The casualty had to actively reach for a lifeline and attach it to his body. The MOB Lifesaver solves this problem.
