Some use Restube without screwed CO2 cartridge and go swimming with inflated buoy relaxed. This is basically possible, but to protect the trigger life, the cap makes sense when you have unscrewed the cartridge.
In the last years more and more swimmers started at the RESTUBE Safety Partnerships with already inflated buoys. Many also use the inflated buoy for training purposes, as a so-called drag buoy, for more visibility in the water.
The buoy is simply inflated via the mouth valve before entering the water. This increases your visibility to others on the water - such as paddlers, boats or rescue teams. It also saves the weight of the cartridge.
